Javelin

I guess we are all aqcuinted with the cheese that is Javelin jumping around the corner and insta gibbing you. After a while of thinking and talking on Discord, I think there might be a solution to this whole mess without sacrificing the power that it has.

SO, instead of charging up for 1,5 seconds, I propose something else. After 0,5 seconds the missile would be flung out of the barrel, when it starts going down, the motor would kick in (it starts flying and leaving a trail). When the rocket has travelled more than x amount of meters (5-7 meters sounds good to me) the warhead arms and it can do damage. If the rocket touches something before those 5-7 meters it would be a dud and not explode.

What do you all think? Is this a viable solution? Do I swing the nerfhammer a tad too hard here or too gently? Please let me know down below!

    So you would just get hit in the face by a Metal Warhead if it isn't armed. Great now I just loose my teeth instead of my limbs.

    I'm not aqcuainted with the cheese that is Javelin jumping around the corner. Could you particularise? You can instagib with many mercs, it's not enough reason. IMO we need more gibbing and positional play. Now you can escape almost any bullet storm by long jumping to corner. There is already not enough crossfire positions and people are avoiding those. Making it even harder to predict where you have to launch that rocket. It looks constrained sure, but that nerf is too much when we need a buff.

  • Javlin peeks, sees you. Grabs rocket, charges it and jumps out when you are busy or just running from spawn and ya ded

    In high level play you never just run from spawn. You can see what 3 mercs enemy team chooses before match start. If there is sniper, javelin or fragger, it will affect team playstyle and teamwork try to counter that. Usually it's not the best idea to shoot first one, when there is situation that needs their medic down. If you miss your rocket, it has greater impact to match. Without abilities Javelin isn't nearly as good when compared to Fragger.

    its not a tandem warhead or even a recoiless rifle

    its an Guided Missile like a TOW or Kornet carrying HE Impact Fuze.
    if you want to make it act like nader grenade, it would defeat the purpose of playing javelin and just play nader instead.

    Javelin is by far the weakest Fire Support in the game.
